True Will • Seattle Tantra
The difference between true will and false will is in the perception of what arises in our life. Our cultural values regard nature as being something that needs to be controlled, manipulated, tamed in order to suit us. We wear clothes rather than adapting to our climate as all other animals do. We ingest huge quantities of symptomatic medicines, we build and live in elaborate homes, we transport ourselves great distances using the internal combustion engine, and these are just a few examples.
True will is expressed in the acceptance of the present moment and the confidence that our organism will respond to that environment appropriately whether in the present or in the evolutionary cycle of life.
In order to return to the state of consciousness where a paradise on Earth is possible, we must begin to observe ourselves and the programmed manner in which we react to the world around us. The following quote is from Krishanmurti, the teacher that most of the current spiritual authors learned from, authors such as Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Gary Zukav, Byron Katie, and many many others.
"There can be fundamental and lasting change in the world, there can be love and intelligent fulfillment, only when you wake up and begin to free yourself from the net of illusions, the many illusions which you have created about yourself through fear. When the mind frees itself from these hindrances, when there is that deep, inward, voluntary change, then only can there be true, lasting, collective action..."
