The universal life force animates all living beings, all sentient life. This force proceeds from the void, the empty space between the subatomic particles that compose all matter. This space or void is called the Tao in the Chinese tradition, the West has no suitable name for it though physicists have called it"the field". This void has also been called consciousness by Advaitists who claim that every object and being that exists in the material world is a manifestation of that consciousness.
Our life and affairs revolve around the particles in our world, the energetic and space dimensions are often ignored. We do not often think of the silence that enables the tones, tempo, and harmony of music, nor the physical space that enables material objects to exist. We also are far less aware of the energetic aspects of our physical world.
In addition we have ignored what has been called the fifth element, the current of sentience, the flow of life.The purpose of this site is to explore it and the reasons we may have ignored it in the past. When the elements of nature are considered in poetry, prose, even in science, this fifth element is often not considered along with fire, water, earth, and air.
Most of the universe is energy and space. When you look up into the sky at night the bright points of light and the planets and moons that surround them occupy an infinitesimal portion of the universe and they are all moving at immense speeds. On the topic of space and using as an example a single hydrogen atom, if the proton was the size of a pea, the one electron revolving around that proton would be three football field lengths away.
Though most atoms are much more dense than hydrogen, the objects you see in your world are also mostly space. The reason you see them as "solid" is that, because of their energetic movement, you see the particles in 3,000,000 places "at once". The processing time of our sensory and mental systems are so slow that the material world seems solid and stable, when in fact it is quite fluid and constantly in motion.
Most of the particles in space are moving at tremendous speeds, the energetic movement of these particles (whether cosmic or subatomic) is an aspect of our reality often ignored.
